Terms & Conditions

  1. By submitting an entry, the student agrees to the terms of the entry form and the competition rules and certifies that:

    • They have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enter

    • The work is their own, is not AI generated and doesn’t use any copyright material (e.g. pictures, video or music)

  2. Videos must be no more than 90 seconds in length and uploaded before 5pm, Friday 13 June 2026.

    • No late entries will be considered

    • Only one entry per student will be accepted

    • Entries containing offensive languages and/or materials will be disqualified

    • Schools and/or parents will be notified of any concerning or distressing entries. This includes the use of any offensive material, and discussion of any sensitive topics which disclose personal health or mental health issues, or discuss harm or risk to young person/s.

  3. Entrants must be Victorian residents and must be currently undertaking Grades 5 to Year 12 in Victoria. Where a student may attend more than one educational facility, the primary place of enrolment will be considered the student's school.

  4. Where a single entry is produced by more than one student, one student should be nominated as the key contact and submit the entry on behalf of the group. The administrators of the prize will be in contact to confirm the details of any additional students involved in the entry.

  5. Home-schooled students are eligible for the individual student prizes, but not the school-based prizes.

  6. All entrants are required to provide certain personal information to complete an entry form. This personal information will be used only for the purposes of the competition and within all applicable data protection and privacy laws.

  7. Confirmation of permission for prize-winning entries to be posted on the Victorian Parliament’s website and social media will be sought from winning students and their parents/guardians prior to the winners being announced. Permissions sought will state what infomration from the prize-winners will be used and the specific platforms (social media and website) where the information will be published.

    Permission may also be sought for prize-winning students to participate in any official presentations, interviews, or photographs. Any interviews and photographs will be used for promotional purposes on the Parliament of Victoria's webiste, relating to parliament's education and community engagement programs.

  8. The competition is operated and managed by the Parliament of Victoria.

    • Immediate family of members of parliament and employees of the Parliament of Victoria, inclusive of Electorate Officers, are ineligible to enter.

  9. The winning students and school will be notified and, if possible, will be presented with their prizes and trophies at a ceremony at Parliament House on a date to be advised. If the ceremony cannot take place, prizes and trophies will be sent to students and schools.

  10. Entries will be securely stored for the duration of the competition, and permanently deleted once the competition period, including the announcement and presentation of winners, has been completed. This does not include prize-winning entries.

  11. If members of parliament wish to have any correspondence with a student (for example, to acknowledge a student’s participation) the member will be directed to send correspondence through the school in the first instance, or the parent, in the case of a home schooled-student. However, participation in the Parliament Prize does not guarantee correspondence with a member of parliament.

    • Videos are not shared with members of parliament, If a member of parliament requests further infomration, students' first names, grade, topic and school contact details are provided, in line with the competition's privacy policy.


Winning entries

Winners will be announced via the Victorian Parliament's website and in early August, and will be presented with their prizes in a special ceremony at Parliament House, on a date to be advised.
